Listen Up!

We are bombarded with noise from the second the alarm clock goes off, blaring in our ears first thing at dawn. Throughout the day, there’s a lot more from beeping car horns to phones ringing and buzzing with text messages, shouts from the boss across the office. Silence surely doesn’t await us when we get home either – crying babies, loud washing machines, ringing doorbells, and the yells of kids playing in the basement. I don’t know about you, but at times, I need to escape into my own world. I grab my iPod, pop in my audio earbuds, and just listen to something that I want to listen to. It might be some relaxing classical music or really pumping rock and roll. I may opt for a podcast of Stuff You Missed in History Class or catch the news or tune in to a Phillies game. Whatever it is, that’s when it’s my time to listen to something interesting or pleasant or exciting.
