My Hat's Off to You, St. Patrick

St. Patrick’s Day falls on March 17 every year and I did a little research to see what the significance of that particular date is. It turns out that good old Patrick actually died on March 17. So, all those pints of green beer raised in the middle of the March over the centuries actually commemorate a life well lived. Patrick converted many in Ireland to Christianity and used the common three-leaf clover to demonstrate the Holy Trinity. Patrick was also a bishop, which means that paintings depict him wearing a large, funky-looking, pointed hat. You won’t be able to wear a hat like this on March 17 this year, but instead give a nod to the Irish and the famous bishop himself by sporting a St. Patrick’s Day top hat. It’s fun, it’s green, and it’s a perfect promotional item for everyone from youngsters to adults. Even if there’s no Irish blood flowing through your veins, don’t worry. We won’t tell! Just don your top hat, whistle a fine tune, and dance a jig. Oh, and keep an eye out for leprechauns. This is the day that those little green men will be out in full force.
