Bye-bye Booboos

Summer is the time for fun outside, spending lazy days by the pool, riding bikes, and playing pickup games of baseball. It’s the season for picking fresh produce at local farms, gathering fireflies in glass jars, and roller skating outside on the pavement. But when the mosquitoes bite, that glass jar shatters, and your kid skins his knee after a fall from his bike or topples over from a roller skating stunt, you better be prepared for battle. Make sure you have an outdoor first aid kit handy for those bug bites, scrapes, bruises, and minor cuts. Another good product to have on hand is the sports injury first aid kit which contains a cold pack for bumps and swelling, along with other must-haves like bandages and antiseptic towelettes to take care of those minor injuries that bleed. I recommend that you keep one of these kits in your tote bag, another in your car’s glove compartment, and one in each of your medicine cabinets. I keep a first aid kit in my kitchen, too. It’s easier for me to grab when a little one falls on the pavement outside then to have to bolt upstairs and look for one in the medicine cabinet. I can bandage up the booboo and the kids are back to playing in no time.
